LET'S TALK HATS

It's so easy for us ladies to make signature statements about who we are through fashion and the accessories we pair with out outfit of the day. Unless you're a guy who seriously enjoys rifling through chocka drawers and cupboards each morning, in search of the perfect ensemble; most guys don't have a huge range of options when it comes to 'making a statement' through their getup.

Low and behold the cap. A great way for guys to offer up some personality and flare to their choice of threads for the day.

TRUCKER HAT VS BASEBALL CAP

The humble baseball cap. A true icon of sportswear which first adorned the heads of baseball teams back in the 1850s. Originally made to guard players' eyes from the sun, baseball caps are distinguished by six sections, a curved peak and a fabric covered button on top...which interestingly is called a squatchee; so you can bust that one out at the next pub quiz. Most also have fabric eyelets or metal grommets (the holes around the top) for ventilation. Until 1980 baseball caps came in standard, fitted hat sizes; but now are commonly manufactured with an adjustable strap at the back.

Worn by celebs hoping to go undercover, the almighty baseball cap has become a trademark statement for hip hop royalty to hipsters and trend hoppers across the globe. It's safe to say this accessory is now neatly parked between sport and everyday life, epitomising high-low style.

Everyone’s favourite early-2000s promotional item is back in a big way. Whether you survived the VonDutch days and have found yourself here out of nostalgic curiosity, or you’re part of the new wave who’s wondering what that nifty new headwear is that Justin Bieber and Kylie Jenner have been repping all over the ‘gram, the fact remains the same: trucker hats are back.

The trucker hat is an essential accessory here at MOJO. We use them to keep the sun off our faces, and the sweat out of our eyes during workouts. We also love how they pair well with any 'relaxed' office work wear: aka jeans and a t shirt.

A trucker hat is technically a type of baseball cap, except the rear four panels are made from mesh. Its design includes a bill and a foam front section that stands up tall and straight (making it taller than most other hats or caps). Designed with breath-ability and one-size-fits-all in mind.
